I've been using the Caterpillar 305 for a variety of jobs, and I must say the cab design stands out. It's surprisingly spacious for its size, allowing extended hours of operation without discomfort. The joystick-controlled stick steer is a feature I rely on heavily; it simplifies maneuvering and reduces effort. The interface is user-friendly, and setting response levels is a straightforward process. However, one concern is the reliance on the touchscreen for most functions, which might not be ideal in all job conditions. Nonetheless, it's a dependable machine for diverse tasks.

Used the 3CX on a few different jobs last month, mainly pushing dirt and digging footings. What’s handy is being able to chuck on different attachments without much hassle. Acts like a dumper or a loader, which is proper useful instead of swapping machines all day. Shifting between road and site movement is smooth. Not the fastest on hills though. Engine is punchy enough and didn't guzzle diesel, so that's a plus. Operation side is simple, nothing confusing on the switch panel. My only gripe is the cab is pretty plain and after 8 hours your back definitely knows it, no fancy seats or soft stuff in there. Service intervals seem decent; didn’t have a breakdown or anything. Overall, it gets stuff done, but your backside won’t thank you.

Driven the 4CX on and off for about a year in municipal work and some weird weather too, even a few snowy days. Holds up in nasty conditions and always starts up, even cold. I like how stable it feels, tires and base are wide, doesn’t get sketchy even on soft ground. The SRS system smooths out most of the bounce when you’re loaded up and the sealed cab is super quiet for a loader this size, barely need earplugs. Still, the joystick controls take a while to get used to if you’re coming from another brand, and the LCD info display can be confusing with all the blinking warnings. Not a fan of how much tech they've crammed in there, feels like something else to break. Feels pretty comfy though, and you can work long days without being wrecked. Service intervals are decent, not much downtime. Never had a breakdown, but changing bucket sizes is a pain on busy jobs.

Honestly, I've put in a lot of hours with the 320B L and mostly it's just reliable, does what it needs to. Controls are real straightforward, don't need to mess around with things and cab space is decent. I deal with a lot of different jobs, switching between digging and loading and it's got enough versatility for what I need. Haven't run into much with the electrics, but I keep up on maintenance. Only annoying thing for me is the dust that builds up around the track area but that's kind of standard. Wouldn't say it's fancy, but it's a workhorse for sure.
